Higher performance,
more secure systems
To meet present and future
requirements, the Group constantly
strives to modernise its IT and telecom
infrastructures. This has resulted in
considerable works being carried out to
reinforce the security and performance
of its installations while reducing
operational costs.
IT server virtualisation technologies are
now used on a large scale, as are
networked data storage systems.
Launched in 2009, the renovation of
APRR’s broadband multimedia
backbone will be completed in 2010.
This new system will be deployed within
AREA network in 2011. The
convergence of APRR’s and AREA’s
telecom security systems has also been
launched and, when completed in
2010, will result in the Group having a
unified system. Finally, AREA completed
the deployment of sat-nav systems to
localise its emergency vehicles.

In the provision of telecom
infrastructures to operators, Internet
access providers and providers of
public telecom services, the Group
succeeded in maintaining revenue
at the same level as in 2008
(approximately €12 million), despite
a difficult context marked by
the economic crisis and further
acquisitions by telecom operators.
