In the last quarter of 2003, the FCM’s Archives and Library
Department started up a new project titled César Manrique
Virtual Archives. This nine-month project aims to digitise and
reference all the documentation that formed a part of César
Manrique’s personal files.
Work was undertaken in 2003 to remodel the FCM’s website.
New content was designed for this purpose and information
began to be compiled for inclusion on the new site.

Teniendo en cuenta su situación
periférica, la FCM ha dispuesto la creación
de una estrategia de ccomunicación que dé a
conocer sus actividades en puntos geográficamente
distantes y establezca un ssistema de
contactos que impulse el conocimiento
y la extensión del proyecto fundacional,
así como el diálogo con otras
plataformas culturales afines. En este
sentido, la labor editorial del Serviccio
de Publicaciones adquiere especial relevancia.
Durante el año 2003, ha continuado
la edición de nuevos títulos
de colecciones ya existentes. Del mismo
modo, ha proseguido la publica -
ción de los catálogos de las exposiciones
temporales que realiza. El Servicio
se ha encargado, también, dee la papelería, carteles,
invitaciones, y otros materiales impresos de
la FCM. Las ediciones se reaalizan, generalmente,
en papel reciclado o en papel ecológico.

PUBLICATIONS SERVICE
In full awareness of its peripheral location, the
FCM has designed a communications strategy
to publicise its activities in distant places and
establish a system of contacts to enhance the
understanding and further the expansion of the foundation’s
project, while encouraging dialogue with similar cultural
platforms. In this context, the Publications Service’s editorial
work is particularly relevant. In 2003, the Service continued to
release new titles under the existing series. The Service also
continued to produce catalogues for temporary exhibitions. It
likewise attended to the printing of FCM stationery, posters,
invitations and similar materials. Publications are generally
printed on recycled or ecological paper.
Pursuant to FCM’s plastic, environmental and cultural
objectives, the Publications Service has formulated an editorial
policy that is primarily linked to the activities generated by the
institution itself. This does not, however, prevent it from
including or co-operating in other projects from outside
sources, which prove to be either of general interest or in line
with the foundation’s purpose.
