ABSTRACT
These pages aim to offer the key for reading society as a relationship. An attempt is made
to clarify the way in which the social relationship is an object of sociological knowledge, how
it can be observed, and the way in which society is a continuous process of association and
dissociation, in other words, of differentiation that is not always linear and continuous but
also non-linear (asymmetrical) and reactionary (not evolutionist in the Darwinian sense, as
traditionally thought).
