Puisque le propos d’un magazine de mode est d’attraper l’air du temps, Lovecat a
choisi de se concentrer sur les mannequins, premiers ambassadeurs du vêtement. Le
magazine se présente donc comme une galerie de portraits – avec questions courtes
et factuelles – de mannequins jeunes ou plus expérimentées, girly ou plus femme. La
sélection elle-même nous informe sur l’époque, mais les situations des shoots aussi :
de la série de polaroïds au go-see en passant par la série plus posée. Pensé comme
un multibook, Lovecat adopte un papier de fanzine, léger, un peu gris, qui l’éloigne
du glamour de la mode pour le replonger dans le brut du making of qui précède.
Quelques noms émaillent l’ours, Ellen Von Unwerth, Kate Moss… mais ce sont les
inconnues qui offrent ce sentiment de réalité et d’artificiel si proche. Maquetté comme
un fanzine grand format, avec typo peinte et pages déchirées/collées, Lovecat se situe
donc dans un avant de la mode, qui s’adresse plus aux faiseurs et aux initiés, et que
l’apparente absence de mise en scène interpelle.

I always wanted to know, what’s a day in the life like for a super model?
It all depends on where I am in the world. But a basic day is: I get up,
brush my teeth and go to training for an hour. If I’m shooting ill head
to my job and shoot all day…usually sometimes after a job ill have to fly
overseas, most of my time is spent on planes, airports and cars! I travel a
lot so I never have a specific schedule! My days are always different, nothing
is ever the same! I’m always on my phone or on my computer taking
care of business.
As a model you’ve been killing it for years. From elegant runways to
major ad campaigns to some of the world’s biggest magazines. Your very
prolific with your life as a model, but I know you have other interest. What
are some of you other goals you wish to accomplish in the near future?
I really want to create a product that represents me, that people can enjoy.
Whether it’s perfume, or a denim jeans line or a label. I love fashion and I
love the creative process of it all. Right now I’m working on a fragrance, so
it’s exciting because I get to be the director/boss of my own bran! There’s
so much I want to do! I want to travel more, I want to eat amazing food an
explore more of New York city and I want to document everything. I want
to have a family with an amazing man and I really want to be a great
mother that my children can look up and I can be there best friend. I want
to build my dream home and just be really happy and healthy!
I noticed you travel a lot, where’s your favorite place to go on this planet
when you wanna just chill out and take a break?
I always love going to Miami and chilling on the beach with my girlfriends.
Or I love just going home to Perth where my whole family lives
and chill there. Because it’s s quiet and away from the rest of the world
one of my favourite beaches is Cottesloe beach in Perth! So beautiful
and remote.
It seems really intense on those runway shows,what was your first experience
like? Were you nervous?
Yes! I always get nervous before a show, but as soon as I step out on the
catwalk, I enjoy it so much! I love fashion shows, and I love walking to
the music and looking all sexy walking down the runway.
