Selon ses dires,sa connaissance du milieu de la recherche en enseignementde la médecine était extrêmement limitée avant qu’il necommence son stage, mais son intérêt est allé croissant.« J’ai énormément apprécié les occasions qui m’ont été données par les membres du CMC departiciper pleinement à la recherche en enseignement de la médecine, domaine en constanteébullition qui ne cesse de s’élargir. Le CMC confirme le rôle essentiel que joue la recherche dans lesprogrès réalisés dans le domaine de l’enseignement de la médecine grâce aux stages postdoctorauxqu’il propose », a affirmé le D r Chin.Depuis le début de son stage de deux ans, en janvier <strong>2009</strong>, le D r Chin a été nommé chercheurprincipal pour un projet financé par le Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens du <strong>Canada</strong>, dontl’objectif est d’étudier le rôle des compétences narratives dans le domaine clinique et universitaire.Il a également participé à des recherches destinées à comprendre les rôles de chefs de file et dementors dans les facultés de médecine, à améliorer les milieux d’enseignement pour les résidentsen obstétrique et gynécologie et à favoriser des processus d’apprentissage autodidactes auprès desétudiants en médecine.Le D r Chin dit que le fait de travailler avec le CMC lui a également donné la chance d’assister àdes conférences universitaires et « de mieux comprendre le domaine en entendant des exposés eten réseautant. » En mai <strong>2009</strong>, il a participé pour la première fois à la Conférence canadienne surl’éducation médicale.
