• Malaysian candidate
• Good academic qualification
• Full time studies in Master or PhD program by
research in science and technology research
areas
• No other employment or holding scholarship or
other financial assistance
• Must not exceed 30 years of age (for Masters)
and 35 years of age (for PhD) on application date
• Under supervision who are received MOSTI’s
grant
• The award covers tuition fees (includes
registration and one time local seminar fees),
examination fees (viva) and monthly stipend
• Citizen of the MTCP participating countries
• Must not exceed 45 years of age on application
date
• They should, at the time of application hold a
degree or equivalent qualification with at least
upper second class honours, (or CGPA 3.0/4.0)
for Master’s Degree with good grades for PhD
programme
• Must demonstrate verbal, reading and writing
proficiency in the English language either through:
o Test of English as a Foreign Language
(TOEFL)
o Test administered by the International
English Language Testing Service
(IELTS)
• Must be in good health, both physically and
mentally
• The award covers:
o Return ticket from recipient’s capital city
to Malaysia;
o Approved tuition fees;
o Maintenance monthly allowance of
RM1000;
o Yearly grant for books and internal travel;
o Thesis allowance, installation and
termination grant;
o No marriage/family allowance for
accompanying spouse or children
• Malaysian or international candidate
• Appointed as Research Assistant by the
University of Malaya
• Applicant must be registered at the University of
Malaya for any of the Master (full research) or
PhD programmes
