MAINTENANCEAll maintenance operations (cleaning, any replacement of parts, etc…) must be carried out when the fire is out and thestove is cold. Abrasive substances must not be used in any circumstances.Ash panThe ash pan found under the grid must be emptied whenever full, otherwise it might obstruct thecombustion air inlet.CAUTION: DO NOT EMPTY THE BOX WITH HOT ASH, EVEN IF THE FIRE IN THE WOOD STOVE DIES OUT IN THEEVENING, IT'S POSSIBLE TO FIND HOT ASH THE NEXT MORNING: THEREFORE, PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION NOTTO EMPTY THE HOT ASH WHILE STILL HOT ON INFLAMMABLE MATERIAL OR MATERIAL THAT CAN BE DAMAGEDBY RELATIVELY HIGH TEMPERATURES.Cleaning the stove/fireplace and the smoke stackThe combustion of the wood (especially if having at humidity levels greater than 30%) produces creosote that, inthe course of time, forms a build up in the flue obstructing the passage of smoke and which, being inflammable, can catch fire causing damage to both the flue and to the structure of the dwelling.CAUTION: FOR YOUR SAFETY, WHILE FIRST USING THE STOVE, HAVE AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL INSPECT THEUNIONS AND FLUE ONCE EVERY TWO MONTHS. THEN, AS YOU USE THE WOOD STOVE YOU WILL BECOME MOREPRECISELY AWARE OF THE FREQUENCY FOR THE MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS TO BE PERFORMED ON THESMOKE EXHAUST SYSTEM. IN ANY CASE, ANNUAL MAINTENANCE IS MANDATORY.Cleaning the glassThe wood stove/heater is equipped with secondary air that also has the function of keeping the glass clean. To keep it as clean as possible, refrain from using unseasoned wood because the water vapor deposits on theglass retaining the soot. Moreover, it's advisable to position the wood far from the glass. If necessary, clean the glass:1. wait until the stove is cold;2. open the door and use an ammonia-base degreasing solution on a damp cloth or with newspaper. Do notuse, however, materials that can scratch or ruin the glass, in so far that the scratches can become cracks orbreaks.Warning: having finished cleaning the glass, always make sure that the door has been tightly closedTHE GLASS CLEANING IS PERFORMED WITH THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED AND THE GLASS MUST BE COLD.With drop-latch models (SL) when reloading use the drop-latch opening only (or raise and lower the glass)and not the door opening.55
