The basics<br />
To add a programme:<br />
1. From the Start menu, tap Settings → System tab →<br />
About.<br />
2. In the Version tab, make a note of the information in<br />
the Processor field.<br />
3. Download the programme to your PC (or insert the CD<br />
or disk that contains the programme into your PC).<br />
You may see a single *.xip, *.exe, or *.zip file, a<br />
Setup.exe file, or several versions of files for different<br />
device types and processors. Be sure to select the<br />
programme designed for the Pocket PC and your unit<br />
processor type.<br />
4. Read any installation instructions, Read Me files, or<br />
documentation that comes with the programme. Many<br />
programmes provide special installation instructions.<br />
5. Connect your Pocket PC Phone to your PC and make<br />
sure that the ActiveSync is activated.<br />
6. Double-click the *.exe file on the PC.<br />
If the file is an installer, the installation wizard will<br />
begin. Follow the instructions on the screen. Once the<br />
software has been installed on your PC, the installer will<br />
automatically transfer the software to your Pocket PC<br />
Phone.<br />
