ESPERIENZE A 2.000 METRI. ANCHE PER IL PALATO
Su Alpi e Dolomiti l’effetto sole-neve crea scenari scintillanti:
e profumate tisane. A Cortina, località sciistica fra
circondato a 360 gradi dalle Dolomiti innevate.
rifugi a mangiare.
dove grigliare a piacimento.
SCI ALL’ALBA: PRIMA DISCESA CON PRIMA COLAZIONE
Tablá, Bioch, Piz Arlara e Las Vegas, dove i menù proposti
– a base di latte, cereali, uova, marmellata – passano
dell’apporto calorico ideale. All’Hotel La Perla di Corvara,
Torte fatte in casa,
EXPERIENCES AT 2,000 METERS. INCLUDING FOR YOUR
TASTE BUDS
The sun-snow combination creates some brilliant possibilities
in the Alps and Dolomites: marvellous opportunities for an
experience in the open air – even if it is just for a stroll using
snowshoes in the woods – together with the privilege of going
back to a comfortable hotel in the evening, with saunas at
different temperatures, Jacuzzi pools and herbal teas. At Cortina,
one of the world’s most exclusive ski resorts, the Cristallo
Ultimate is a latest-generation spa that has been designed as
a showcase of science, quality and dependability: a relaxation
area that is genuinely restorative, with a Turkish bath to enjoy the
ritual hamman, as well as delicious snacks and refined dishes in
the Gazebo restaurant with its 360-degree views of the snowy
Dolomites.
For the bold who do not fear the cold, in Valmalenco there is a
suite inside a snow cat: an experience of romantic glamping, with
a super dinner of sciatt, pizzoccheri pasta, taragna polenta and
steak, to delight the taste buds with traditional Valtellina cuisine.
Because the mountains and food go hand in hand: people work
up an appetite skiing and are glad to stop off between runs to
eat in mountain lodges. That is a well-known fact in Alta Badia,
where for the past eleven winters a culinary offering has been
available in which award-winning chefs prepare dishes that can
be sampled from mountain chalet to chalet until spring, with
accompanying wines chosen by a sommelier. And so skiers and
gourmets have grown used to enjoying a gourmet ski safari. In the
Eggental, in addition to the typical menus of the mountain huts
between Latemar and Rosengarten, comes the Slittino & grigliate
a Carezza package, available every Monday and Wednesday
until 26 March: it includes a daily lift pass for the Hubertus piste,
a special run for sledges, rental of a sledge and also of a small
barbecue hut at the Antermont restaurant, where you can cook
your food just as you like it.
SKIING AT DAWN: BREAKFAST WITH THE FIRST RUN
Could anything be nicer than being the first to ski on an
immaculate piste as the sun rises behind the peaks? Various
resorts open the lifts first thing in the morning, giving the chance
to savour a delicious dawn breakfast. It is available in Alta Badia
at the Club Moritzino, Ütia I Tablá, Bioch, Piz Arlara and Las
Vegas chalets, where the menus – with milk, cereals, eggs and
jam – are checked by nutritionist Iader Fabbri and are certified to
provide the ideal calorie intake. The pistes pass right in front of the
Hotel La Perla in Corvara, which is famous for a breakfast that is
considered to have some of the best service and to be amongst
the most genuine in terms of products: it is ideal if you want to
fasten your boots and get up the chair lift nice and early. The hotel
also has a true liquid mine: a cellar that is both excellent and very
well stocked, with 27,000 bottles, but especially the Tempio del
Sassicaia, which has been hewn out of a wing of the cellar itself. It
is an evocative and sensitive route from the first bottle, from 1968,
to the most recent from the Tenuta di San Guido in Bolgheri. One
can even touch the soil of the Tuscan land where the vines are
planted. Homemade cakes, eggs and freshly-made crêpes, fresh
fruit, dried meats and cheeses from the Aosta Valley are served
at the Resort Au Coeur des Neiges in Courmayeur, an elegant
wood and stone chalet that looks after skiers both at dawn and
at dusk, as they set out for and come back from the pistes, with a
restorative snack, or a nice glass of wine as an aperitif.
