Marzia è una violinista che suona con la
prima orchestra afgana tutta al femminile,
Zohra. Attraverso i suoi occhi seguiamo
la realtà quotidiana delle ragazze di
questa orchestra. Sebbene la situazione
in Afghanistan stia migliorando, suonare
musica è ancora inaccettabile agli occhi
di molti, soprattutto quando si tratta di
giovani donne. Il film diretto da Lucia
Kašová descrive i loro desideri, i sogni e
la preparazione per le esibizioni. Durante
il tour in Slovacchia, raggiungono anche
gli ex confini del blocco comunista: il
simbolismo della cortina di ferro sposta
la storia afgana in una prospettiva
completamente diversa.
Marzia is a violinist playing with the first
Afghan all-female orchestra, Zohra. Through
her eyes we follow the daily reality of the girls
in this orchestra. Although the situation in
Afghanistan is improving, playing music is still
unacceptable in the eyes of many, especially
when it comes to young women. The film
directed by Lucia Kašová depicts their desires,
dreams and preparation for performances.
During the tour in Slovakia, they also get to
the former borders of the communist bloc:
the symbolism of the Iron Curtain moves
the Afghan story to a completely different
perspective.
Il nostro progetto consiste in vere storie
umane. Milioni di persone i cui parenti
sono stati assassinati, la maggior
parte mutilati, torturati, esiliati dai
loro paesi, bruciati dalla nostalgia,
invocano una preghiera comune nei
paesi in cui si rifugiano. Hanno tutti un
desiderio: tornare nella loro città natale
prima di morire. Ogni anno, milioni di
musulmani provenienti da 150 paesi
diversi si riuniscono in Bangladesh per
tre giorni per pregare per le persone
perseguitate e per la pace nel mondo. È
il secondo più grande raduno religioso
dopo l’Hajj.
Our project consists of real human stories.
Millions of people whose relatives have been
murdered, most of them have been mutilated,
tortured, exiled from their countries, burning
with homesickness, call a common prayer in
the countries where they take refuge. They all
have one desire: to return to their hometown
before they die. Every year, millions of Muslims
from 150 different countries get together
in Bangladesh for three days to pray for
persecuted people and world peace. It is the
second largest religious gathering after the
Hajj.
