Rebecca Covaciu, giovane e nota

artista di etnia rom, nasce ad Arad,

in Romania, nel 1996. A sette anni

parte con la famiglia per un lungo

viaggio tra Brasile, Argentina, Spagna,

Francia e Italia. Fin da piccolissima ama

disegnare e lo fa, nelle baracche, per

strada o sotto i ponti, con quello che

ha a disposizione: terra bagnata, petali

di fiori, sassi. Nel 2008 vince il premio

Arte e intercultura Unicef e riceve in

regalo la sua prima scatola di colori.

Da allora non ha smesso di dipingere.

Le sue opere sono esposte al Museo

d’Arte Contemporanea di Hilo (Hawaii),

rappresentative dell’arte rom in Europa.

Oltre alla pittura, che resta in cima ai

suoi pensieri, la giovane artista si dedica

ora alla scultura, alla poesia, al teatro

e alla musica. Recita in una compagnia

teatrale e studia violino con il maestro

Uri Chameides, grande musicista

e didatta israeliano, co-fondatore

dell’Accademia Musicale di Brera.

Chameides crede nel futuro di Rebecca

anche nel campo della musica e la segue

con particolare attenzione.

Rebecca Covaciu, a young and well-known

artist of Roma ethnicity, was born in Arad,

Romania, in 1996. At the age of seven she

left with her family for a long journey between

Brazil, Argentina, Spain, France and Italy.

From an early age she loves to draw and

does it, in the shacks, on the street or under

bridges, with what she has at her disposal:

wet earth, flower petals, stones. In 2008 he

won the Unicef ​Art and Interculture Award

and received his first box of colors as a gift.

He hasn’t stopped painting since. His works

are exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary

Art in Hilo (Hawaii), representative of Roma

art in Europe. In addition to painting, which

remains at the top of her thoughts, the young

artist now dedicates herself to sculpture,

poetry, theater and music. He acts in a theater

company and studies violin with maestro

Uri Chameides, a great Israeli musician

and teacher, co-founder of the Brera Music

Academy. Chameides believes in Rebecca’s

future also in the field of music and follows her

with particular attention.
