La Bussola has been part of Portoferraio’s history since 1958:
it overlooks the Ghiaie beach and is a landmark for those

twenty-six years, serving his guests a tasty cuisine based on
traditional Elban dishes. The crystal clear water allows you
to admire the beauty of the sea bed while enjoying breakfast
or relaxing on a comfortable sun bed under a beach
umbrella.
His cuisine from Rio prepares specialties like salt cod,
stockfish and octopus: excellent the spaghetti with black
sauce. Not to mention the famous Schiaccia Briaca (Tipsy
Cake). David recommends the best wine to accompany
every dish, be it local or national. Gourmet pizza is a perfect
alternative for a light but tasty meal. For a cool break during
the summer days, you must try the homemade ice cream
with a thousand flavours.
The terrace and the veranda on Viale delle Ghiaie are the
perfect location for an aperitif at sunset while enjoying
