With a beautiful spring already here<br />

and a hot summer rushing to us, we are<br />

very pleased to present you a new 12th issue<br />

of „Restoranø <strong>verslas</strong>“. For some<br />

people working in the restaurant business<br />

summer is a time of vacation and rest, and<br />

for the others it is the busiest time of the<br />

year. In any case it is one of the most beautiful<br />

and pleasant seasons in Lithuania.<br />

While you are waiting for this wonderful<br />

season we offer you various articles that<br />

would be of a great help to you at the<br />

moment or in the future.<br />

As always there is a list of places to eat<br />

that opened in March-April. The most interesting<br />

ones are described in more detail<br />

(page 7).<br />

In the Equipment Rubrics we explore<br />

the kinds of outdoor grills the could attract<br />

more customers to the restaurants<br />

during summer season (pages 18-19).<br />

The barbecue season is coming therefore<br />

we present an article about preparation<br />

of beef steak and features of grilling<br />

in the Product Rubrics (pages 20-21).<br />

An interesting article about Vicenca,<br />

province of Veneto Region of Italy will introduce<br />

the readers to the most prominent<br />

products and their producers (pages 22-23).<br />

In the Drinks column we talk about cider<br />

and discuss its supply to the bars and<br />

restaurants of Lithuania (pages 24-25).<br />

Here we introduce you to the news of<br />

the market of restaurants and hotels, and<br />

new products that just appeared to the market<br />

(pages 8-9).<br />

In the Rubrics about coffee we talk<br />

about how you should taste coffee and<br />

what criteria you should pay attention to<br />

(pages 26-27).<br />

There has been a great shortage of mutton<br />

and lamb over the last few years in<br />

Lithuania, however more and more farmers<br />

got to raising sheep, therefore at<br />

present a stabile supply of lamb to the restaurants<br />

is finally ensured (page 10).<br />

We continue on the cycle of the articles<br />

“Interesting Restaurants”. This time we describe<br />

the most interesting Russian restaurants<br />

(pages 11-13).<br />

In the Concept Rubrics we are trying to<br />

go deeper into the situation of the nightclubs<br />

of Lithuania. We have interviewed a<br />

couple of people who have been in this<br />

business for a while. They have described<br />

the current situation and future tendencies<br />

in great detail (pages 14-15).<br />

As always we present accomplished<br />

work of the Association of Chefs, Cooks,<br />

and Bartenders, operating in Lithuania and<br />

the annual events planned (pages 32-33).<br />

In the Rubrics of Consultation we<br />

present novelties of accounting systems,<br />

and control of digital hi-fi and lighting system<br />

(pages 29-30).<br />

There is a short overview of the novelties<br />

and changes in the market of restaurants<br />

and hotels of Lithuania (pages 34-35).<br />

On the last pages of the magazine<br />

there is a list of exhibitions planned all<br />

around the world for the months of June-<br />

August and an index of companies servicing<br />

HoReCa sector in Lithuania (pages 37-38).<br />
