Het lied ‘My name is Luka’ stond in 1987 in veel landen bovenaan de hitparades. Luka<br />
was een jongetje in het appartementencomplex in New York waar de schrijfster en<br />
zangeres, Suzanne Vega, destijds woonde, maar Luka had net zo goed haar hoogbejaarde<br />
buurman kunnen zijn. Geschreven vanuit het perspectief van een mishandeld kind<br />
bevat het een aantal elementen die uit on<strong>der</strong>zoek naar kin<strong>der</strong>- en ou<strong>der</strong>enmishandeling<br />
bekend zijn: het zoeken van de oorzaak bij zichzelf (I think it’s ‘cause I’m clumsy),<br />
