• ENTREVISTA
roupa esportiva e preta. E vou estar sempre tão maluco correndo
A minha
me dar capacidade de fazer qualquer papel que for preciso.
Ano passado descobri o circo, sempre tive vontade e gostei,
quando comecei a fazer aulas me apaixonei.
Nenhuma faculdade
O teatro exige muitas vezes o improviso e textos decorados.
E no teatro é
a mesma coisa. O primeiro contato com o personagem é o
texto.
What is the greatest lesson you have learnt from your father?
I think I have learnt to be generous and listen more.
Are you vain? What do you do to stay in shape?
I’m not really, no. In my day to day, I’m always wearing
sportswear and black. And I am always doing many crazy
things so that keeping in shape falls into the background. My
concern is for my health, being always available to do whatever
is necessary. I am not looking for the perfect body like many
actors do; I want to have a body available to give me the ability
to take on a role I need it to. Last year, I discovered the circus,
I always wanted to get to know it and I liked it, when I started
classes I fell in love. Nowadays, I’m addicted; I live with calluses
on my hands and purple marks on my body. It’s almost an
occupational therapy. It gives incredible strength and prepares
the body for anything.
Do you have any valuable tips for anyone who wants to become
an actor?
This is very personal. But I can tell you what worked for me: I
did theater. I learned a lot from it. No school taught me what
I learned on the stage.
What was the most challenging moment in your career to date?
There have been two: the first was making my first soap while
also being on stage. I taped from Monday through Thursday and
went on stage on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I went a year
without a day off and lived on an airplane. The other is the moment
is the one I’m going through now, which is rehearsing for
two plays at the same time. It’s almost 13 hours a day, my next
challenge will be to do the two plays at the same time because
one is going to be a play in the afternoon and another at night.
The theater, by being live, must make an actor more nervous.
Do you have a ritual before going on stage? If so, what is it?
Do you still get butterflies in your stomach?
I have no ritual. But it requires a lot of concentration, responsibility
and much care so that the public receives your best. It
requires a lot. It’s not just the butterflies, but the responsibility
before the public.
It must be super hard to memorize the lines of an entire
play. Has there been a time when you got stuck and had to
improvise?
Memorizing the text is what most impresses people in general,
but actually this is just the first step. It’s like baking a cake without
knowing what flour and sugar are. To prepare the recipe,
the first step is to identify the ingredients. And in the theater, it
is the same thing. The first contact with the character is the text.
Anyone can memorize. The challenge is what to do with the
memorized text, how to make each word become something
alive and turn the character into a real person. Several times
I’ve gone blank, and have had to improvise in a way so that the
public does not realize that it was an oversight.
