Google Professional Certificates Program
Fomentar as competências digitais e
a empregabilidade foi o objetivo do
Programa de Certificações Profissionais
Google. O projeto resultou de uma
parceria da Google Portugal com
a APDC e envolveu a atribuição de 3
mil certificados em quatro áreas de
formação, aos quais se candidataram
mais de 16 mil pessoas.
O projeto foi anunciado em abril de
2021, depois da Google, associada
institucional e patrocinadora da APDC,
ter desafiado a Associação para
liderar em Portugal uma iniciativa que
a tecnológica tem vindo a desenvolver,
com sucesso, ao nível internacional. Esta
visa ajudar pessoas a encontrar emprego,
através da oferta de licenças gratuitas
para cursos de formação, a realizar no
Coursera (plataforma MOOC) nas áreas
de: IT support (a única disponível em
português); UX Design; Data Analytics; e
Project Management.
Contando ainda com o apoio do IEFP,
foram lançadas três mil vagas para
formação nas quatro áreas, cabendo à
APDC definir o perfil dos destinatários/
alunos, assim como promover a adesão
à formação e garantir a sua inscrição
no Coursera. Gerir os alunos, incluindo
estimular a conclusão dos cursos, e
apoiar com dados para a elaboração
do ‘Relatório de Resultados’ foram
outras tarefas a cargo da Associação.
Que, através desta iniciativa, reforçou
ainda mais a sua aposta numa área
verdadeiramente essencial como é a do
talento qualificado em TIC.
No final do ano passado, e tendo
em conta o sucesso do projeto e o
número elevado de candidaturas, o
número de certificações foi alargado
para mais duas mil, elevando para um
total de cinco mil as formações até
final de março de 2022. Esta iniciativa
destinou-se a pessoas com, no mínimo,
o 12º ano completo, preferencialmente
desempregadas, com o objetivo de
fomentar as suas competências digitais e
a sua empregabilidade.
Fostering digital skills and employability
was the goal of the Google Professional
Certifications Program. The project
resulted from a partnership between
Google Portugal and APDC and involved
the attribution of 3 thousand certificates in
four training areas, to which more than 16
thousand people applied.
The project was announced in April
2021, after Google, institutional associate
and sponsor of APDC, challenged the
Association to lead in Portugal an initiative
that the technology company has been
successfully developing internationally. This
aims to help people find jobs, by offering
free licenses for training courses, to be
held on Coursera (MOOC platform) in the
areas of: IT support (the only one available
in Portuguese); UX Design; Data Analytics;
and Project Management.
With the support of the IEFP, three
thousand vacancies were launched for
training in the four areas, being the APDC
responsible for defining the profile of the
recipients/students, as well as promoting
the adherence to training and ensuring
their registration on Coursera. Managing
the students, including stimulating the
completion of courses, and supporting
with data for the preparation of the
‘Results Report’ were other tasks in charge
of the Association. Through this initiative,
the Association has further strengthened its
commitment to a truly essential area such
as qualified talent in ICT.
At the end of last year, and taking into
account the success of the project and
the high number of applications, the
number of certifications was extended
to two thousand more, bringing the
total number of training courses to five
thousand by the end of March 2022.
This initiative was aimed at people
with at least a complete 12th grade
education, preferably unemployed, with
the goal of fostering their digital skills and
employability.
