Com investimento de R$ 2,75 bilhões, a iniciativa
irá proporcionar um ganho de performance de aproximadamente
18% da capacidade produtiva, o que
representa o acréscimo de cerca de 350 mil toneladas
de celulose por ano.
Entre as ações ambientais, destacam-se a instalação
do Centro de Controle Ambiental e o desligamento
da caldeira de força à carvão, que reduzirá
cerca de 60% as emissões de GEE.
PC de Economia Circular, a empresa reutiliza
cerca de 99,8% dos resíduos industriais gerados a
partir da celulose. Esse material é transformado em
13 novos produtos, que vão desde matéria-prima
para fabricação de cimento, adubos e fertilizantes,
até insumos para painéis de madeira.
Em âmbito social, a CMPC está comprometida
com uma série de iniciativas nas comunidades onde
atua. Assim, a companhia criou o Fundo Valor Local
que fomenta o desenvolvimento dessas localidades.
Nas três edições, o programa já destinou mais de R$
1 milhão para 50 ações voltadas à educação, à geração
de emprego e renda e à promoção da qualidade
de vida. Além disso, a CMPC também investe em
diversos programas como o Favos do Sul, o Floresta é
Vida e o Água para as Comunidades, entre outros.
