WHAT WAS THE ‘TALK OF THE TOWN’
THIS TIME LAST YEAR?
There is a virus which all countries of the world concern, we have forgotten all the
troubles and diseases except almost the virus. We always talked and argued about one
thing. However, was it like that last year today? What would we talk about when starting
autumn?
There was no such thing as an epidemic. Perhaps our biggest problem as we entered
the autumn months was the change of the weather and the flu germ. When it comes to
vaccination, the first thing we think of is the flu vaccine. Today we are thankful for these
illnesses by saying ‘if they say flu, it is good to survive with flu’ ...
Struggling with the pandemic, even talking about it, not today, exhausts us. We listen
and read every news published, every development we hear, with our eyes wide open.
We also get good news. Perhaps we are witnessing the most important scientific studies
in history. I wonder if we should be happy or sad at such a testimony now?..
Nevertheless, I leave everything aside, I am proud to see all of these studies in Turkey.
It makes me very happy that such strong infrastructure, responsible and conscious
companies are known to the world with their success. I am sure that all of us like that
...
Our curious, anxious, excited, hopeful wait continues from all our companies. And while
I wait, I have another question in mind: What are we going to talk about today next year?
Make a forecast both for the world and for yourself until our next issue. And stay
healthy!

Bir virüs var ki tüm dünya ülkelerinin başında, neredeyse haricindeki tüm dertleri,
hastalıkları unuttuk. Hep tek bir şey üzerine konuşur, tartışır olduk. Oysa ki geçen sene
bugün öyle miydi? Sonbahara başlarken nelerden konuşurduk?
Salgın diye bir şey yoktu mesela. Belki de sonbahar aylarına girerken ki en büyük
derdimiz, hava değişikliği, grip mikrobuydu. Aşı denilince aklımıza ilk olarak grip aşısı
geliyordu. Bugün grip deseler, ‘Griple atlatsak iyi’ diyerek, bu hastalıklara şükreder
olduk…
Bugün değil pandemiyle mücadele etmek, hakkında konuşmak bile artık bizi yoruyor,
yıpratıyor. Yayınlanan her haberi, duyduğumuz her gelişmeyi gözlerimiz fal taşı gibi
açılarak dinliyoruz, okuyoruz. Güzel haberler de alıyoruz. Tarihin en önemli bilimsel
çalışmalarına tanıklık ediyoruz belki de. Şimdi böyle bir tanıklığa sevinmek mi lazım
üzülmek mi acaba?..
Yine de her şeyi bir yana bırakırsam, Türkiye’de yapılan tüm bu çalışmaları görmekten
büyük gurur duyuyorum. Alt yapısı böyle sağlam, sorumluluk sahibi, bilinçli firmaların
adını başarılarıyla dünyaya duyurması beni çok mutlu ediyor. Eminim ki hepimizi öyle…
Meraklı, endişeli, heyecanlı, umutlu bekleyişimiz sürüyor tüm firmalarımızdan. Ve
beklerken aklımda bir soru daha var: Önümüzdeki yıl bugün neyi konuşacağız?
Bir sonraki sayımıza kadar siz de hem dünya için hem de kendiniz için bir tahminde
bulunun. Ve sağlıkla kalın!
