SASCO
On its 24 th anniversary, Southern
Airports Services Joint Stock
Company (SASCO) launches its
Le Saigonnais business lounge
at Tan Son Nhat airport. Le
Saigonnais is constructed on
the area of 512 square meters
with a capacity of 150 guests.
It is designed in classical däcor
combined with architectural style
of the old and modern Saigon.
PICTURE4CHARITY
In the middle of July, a fundraising
website at www.picture4charity.
com was launched by a group
of local photographers and their
audiences. The website is aimed
at raising funds for charity by
selling tourism-themed photos
donated by photographylovers
with generous hearts.
Those photos will be sold at
prices ranging from 200,000 to
500,000VND and all proceeds
from the photo sales will
go to open homes, shelters,
orphanages and those in difficult
circumstances and in need of
support. During the initial phase,
the project aims to give financial
support to One Body Village, a
non-profit organization which
is active in the country with a
mandate to provide shelter,
health care and educational
assistance for children affected
by sexual abuse. All money raised
from the photo sales during
the first three months since the
website was put into operation
will be used to repair the shelter
which has deteriorated after ten
years of operation.
ASEAN CERAMICS
Asean Ceramics is a 3 day
event being held from August
31 st to September 2 nd , 2017
at the Bangkok International
Trade & Exhibition Centre
(BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand.
This event showcases products
like machinery manufacturers;
raw material suppliers; drying,
firing and heating equipment;
analysis, measuring & laboratory
equipment; extraction &
preparation; quality & process
control; environmental
protection and more in the
Industrial Products industry.
HANOI
A virtual tour of the Hanoi
Opera House in the cooperation
with International Francophone
Institute was launched, offering
visitors a brand-new experience
and an insight into different
aspects of the renowned building.
The 15-minute tour features
a full motion video, capturing
different angles of the landmark
with French music playing on
background and audio guide in
Vietnamese, French and English.
It provides the visitors with
information on the construction
of the house, its unique
architecture, the development of
modern Vietnamese theatres and
music in the early 20 th century.
YEN BAI
A cultural-tourism week
honouring terraced paddy fields
will be launched with a ceremony
in Mu Cang Chai district, the
northern mountainous province
of Yen Bai from September 21 st
to 27 th , 2017. The event features
an array of cultural and tourism
activities with the main theme of
"yellow waves on the mountain".
It is held to boost the potentials,
strengths and cultures of ethnic
groups in Mu Cang Chai, along
with the aim of protecting
historical values and developing
tourism.

Laguna Golf Group garnered
a dual win for the prestigious

Awards. Its championship course

THAILAND
Thai government has extended
the stay for patients from
Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar
and Vietnam (CLMV), as well
as those from China, who
come to Thailand for medical
treatment from 30 to 90 days,
in accordance with its ambitious
plan to turn the country into a
medical hub. The extended stay
will also be applicable for up to
three companions per patient.
Efforts will be made to develop
capacity at all levels to improve
medical facilities and ensure
quality. The extension of stay
would encourage foreigners to
travel to Thailand for medical
treatment.

KOREA
On the occasion of the 25 th anniversary
of the establishment of diplomatic
ties between Vietnam and Korea, the
Republic of Korea Embassy in Vietnam
decided to implement this policy with
the aim of promoting the strategic
partnership between the two countries.
The Republic of Korea Embassy in
Vietnam has started loosening visa
procedures for Vietnamese citizens from
July 10. The policy will also help expand
exchanges between the two sides in
all fields, in line with development of
relations between Vietnam and Korea,
and ease applicants' difficulties due to
complex and lengthy visa procedures.

ITALY
Rome residents and visitors are now under strict new rules regarding alcohol in the evenings. The new rules ban
the sale and consumption of alcohol in public places in 14 of the city's municipalities from 10pm until 7am. The
ban is a temporary one and will be in place until October, with the aim of reducing anti-social behavior in the
peak tourist season. Individuals could face a fine of Euro150, while for business owners it could be up to Euro
280. In the meantime, if you wish to legally drink outside, you'll have to head to the district of Ottavia, the only
municipality to escape the ban.
