Baptism
Baptism is an ordinance given to us by our Lord
Jesus Christ as a visible symbol of invisible grace. In
other words, baptism is a discernible and tangible
representation of the Gospel and the new spiritual life
that we have in Christ. With baptism, believers have an
opportunity to “remember” God’s goodness and grace,
especially as revealed in the person and work of Jesus
Christ. Baptism pictures Christ’s death and resurrection
and our participation in His death and resurrection
through union to Him in faith. As we are baptized, we
are reminded that Christ was crucified and raised from
the dead and that we too have died to our old selves in
order to live for Christ.
At Family Chapel, we had the privilege of baptizing
Eric Chung, Ji Yun Gim, Joseph An, and Rony Qiu.
These 4 brothers and sisters have professed their faith
in Christ. And we as a community have rejoiced
in seeing them make this public declaration. In the
sharing of their testimonies, we were reminded that
God was at work through various people at various
points in time to draw them to Himself. We celebrate
God’s grace at work in their lives!
