OMC: Family Chapel’s 27th Anniversary
On October 7, 2018, OMC: Family Chapel
celebrated its 27th Anniversary. Pastor Steve Bang Lee
of Living Hope Community Church (Brea, CA) blessed
our congregation by preaching the Word. He urged
Family Chapel to be rigorously faithful in the ordinary.
For God to do something extraordinary through us,
He must first do something extraordinary in us, which
He usually accomplishes by placing the ordinary
around us. As Family Chapel continues to grow and
mature, we recognize that God calls us to present
faithfulness if we want to bear future fruitfulness. And
as God has continually been faithful for the past 27
years, we hope to remain faithful to the mission God
has given to us “to build a thriving family of God that
makes Him known and shares His joy with all peoples
through worship, evangelism, and discipleship.”
SALT (College Ministry) Kick-Off
After a short break for the summer, Family Chapel
started another session of their SALT College Ministry
for the new school year. Students from all around Los
Angeles have been coming each week to engage in
Bible studies and discussion groups with their fellow
peers. In this first month, we have seen an influx
of new faces, mostly freshmen students looking for
a new church to attend during their college years.
Please pray that we would continue to minster well to
these collegians, and that the students would be fully
equipped to be a blessing on their college campuses.
XR Community Groups Launch
In September, Family Chapel launched Community
Groups for our members in the Young Adult life stage.
We believe that members of the church are called to
live in community, and this is especially important in
such a transitory life stage. We have five community
groups in the Los Angeles region, as well as one in
Orange County. Please pray that our groups would
continue to thrive as we seek to draw closer to God
and to one another.
