Lage
Der deutschsprachige Sensebezirk liegt als
Brücke zwischen der Deutschschweiz und
der Romandie im Nordosten des Kantons
Freiburg. Seinen Namen verdankt er dem
Fluss „Sense“, welcher den Bezirk im Osten
gegen den Kanton Bern abgrenzt.
Tourismus
Ausschlaggebend für den Tourismus waren
Heilquellen, welche erste Gäste in die
Region lockten. 1934 war Peter Dietrich
als Posthalter von Schwarzsee erste
Kontaktperson zu den Gästen. Heute verfügt
Schwarzsee über ein eigenes, professionell
geführtes Tourismusbüro.
Tradition und Moderne
Seit den 60er Jahren hat der Sensebezirk
einen grossen politischen, wirtschaftlichen
und gesellschaftlichen Wandel erfahren. Mit
einer koordinierten Regionalplanung streben
die 19 Gemeinden des Sensebezirks eine
gesamtheitliche Entwicklung und Stärkung
ihrer Region an, unter Berücksichtigung und
Wahrung ihrer Tradition und Eigenheiten.

Naturpark Gantrsich - Entdecken.
Erforschen. Erleben
Der Naturpark Gantrisch umfasst 26
Gemeinden, darunter auch Plaffeien und
Oberschrot mit dem Schwarzsee. Bund
und Kantone finanzieren diverse Projekte,
welche die Natur aufwerten und bewahren,
gesellschaftliche Werte fördern und die
Wirtschaft ankurbeln. Und damit gibt es
viel zu entdecken für Besucherinnen und
Besucher: Seien es natürliche Highlights
wie der Schwarzsee, die Senseschlucht
oder das Gurnigelgebiet mit unendlichen
Sportmöglichkeiten, kulturellen Wahrzeichen
wie die Klosterruine Rüeggisberg,
das Vrenelimuseum Guggisberg oder
Firmen wie die Schaukäserei Gantrischli
oder die Dittligmühle in Wattenwil mit
Bistro und Laden.

The „Sense“ district
Situation
Le district germanophone de la Singine
fait le pont entre la Suisse alémanique
et la Romandie et se situe au nord-est du
canton de Fribourg. Son nom dérive de
la rivière «Singine», laquelle délimite le
district à l‘est envers le canton de Berne.
Tourisme Décisif pour le tourisme étaient
les sources thermales qui attiraient
les premiers hôtes dans la région. En
1934 ce fut Peter Dietrich, postier de
Schwarzsee, qui était le premier contact
de ces hôtes. Aujourd‘hui, Schwarzsee
possède son propre bureau de tourisme,
géré avec beaucoup de professionnalisme.
Tradition et modernité
Depuis les années 60, le district de la
Singine a parcouru des changements importants
sur le plan politique, économique et
social. Selon un planning régional, les 19
communes font tout afin de développer et
fortifier leur région au mieux, tout en tenant
compte et en maintenant leur tradition et

Le parc naturel du Gantrisch regroupe 26
communes, dont Plaffeien et Oberschrot
ainsi que le Lac Noir. La Confédération et
les cantons financent divers projets dans
le but de revaloriser et préserver la nature,
favoriser les valeurs sociales et relancer
l‘économie. C‘est pourquoi il y a beaucoup
à découvrir pour les visiteurs. D‘une part
la beauté naturelle du Lac Noir, les gorges
de la Singine ou la région du Gurnigel
avec ses infinies possibilités sportives.
D‘autre part, l‘emblème culturel comme
la ruine du monastère de Rüeggisberg ou
le musée de Vreneli de Guggisberg, des
entreprises comme la fromagerie à visiter
du Gantrischli ou le moulin de Wattenwil
avec Bistro et Magasin.
Geographic location
The Sense district connects the german
speaking part of Switzerland to the
Romandie and lies in the Northeast of
the canton of Fribourg. It’s named after
the river „Sense“ which marks the border
of the district towards the canton of
Berne in the East.
Tourism
Crucial for the start of tourism were the
hot springs which attracted the very first
visitors to the region. Peter Dietrich was
indeed the first contact to the guests
in 1934 as postmaster of Schwarzsee.
Today, Schwarzsee has its own professional
tourism office.
Between tradition and modernity
Since the 1960s, the Sense district has
experienced a tremendous evolution in
politics, economies and society. The 19
municipalities of the Sense district plan
an integral and coordinated evolution
and strengthening of their region while
maintaining and conservating their tradition

The Gantrisch natural park groups 26
districts including Plaffeien, Oberschrot
and Schwarzsee. The State and the
cantons finance a variety of projects in
order to develop and perserve nature,
favour social networks and boost the
economy. That is why there is plenty to
discover for visitors. On one hand, the
natural beauty of the Schwarzsee, the
Sense gorges or the Gurnigel region with
its amount of sports possibilities.
On the other hand, the cultural emblem
like the monastry ruin of Rüeggisberg or
the Vrenelimuseum in Guggisberg, companies
like Gantrischli mountain cheese
dairy or the mill of Wattenwil with its
café and shop.
