Momordica charantia kann als Gemüse
wie auch als Zubereitung zur Nahrungsergänzung,
metabolische Vorgänge innerhalb
des Kohlenhydratstoffwechsels
ernährungsphysiologisch unterstützen.
Die Bittermelone eine interessante Option
zur Prävention von diabetogenen
Risikopatienten zu sein, die z.B. an
Übergewicht leiden und die Medikamente
anwenden, die die Glucosetoleranz
beeinflussen. Die Forschungsarbeiten,
Literatur:
neue effektivere Bittermelonensorten
zu testen bzw. zu züchten, werden von
der Beratungsgruppe für entwicklungsorientierte
Agrarforschung (BEAF) der
Deutschen Gesellschaft für Technische
Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) im Auftrag des
Bundesministeriums für wirtschaftliche
Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung gefördert.
Es ist zu hoffen, dass die Studienergebnisse
eine neue Basis für neue
Therapieoptionen darstellt.
