Following disc, side,and band number, the following informationis presented in the order given:a) Number of the cylinder in the DemonstrationCollection.b) Name of the collector and of the collectionfrom which the Demonstration Collectionrecording was selected; the numberof the cylinder in that collection.c) In parentheses: Total number of cylindersin the collection under question, the datethe recording was made, and the place ofrecording when known.d) Other data and commentary.The use of" Archive" rather than thename of a collector indicates that the recordingin question was made in the Phonogramm-Archivor by members of the staffof the Archive in Berlin.The last paragraph in the notes for eachrecording represents work notes made bythe research assistant in the Archives ofFolk and Primitive Music in preparing themaster tapes from which the discs have beenpressed.
