Airbus ULD
Airbus Germany GmbH Bremen plans the
application of radio frequency identification
(RFID) for cargo loading systems.
Therefore it is essential to analyse how this
technology behaves in an aircraft-specific
surrounding at typical charge carriers
(so-called Unit Load Devices) and how to
integrate into the air freight cargo system.
The major task is to apply RFID on these
ULDs (container, pallet) and to test their
suitability within the cargo loading system
of an aircraft. The tests take place at the
airbus cargo centre and BIBA, so that a
realistic aircraft environment is ensured
and loading and unloading processes of
a cargo plane can be simulated.
CONCLORE
The European Project CONCLORE will
define an advanced recycling model
called the Controlled Closed Loop Recycling
(CCLR). A 100 percent recyclable
single-component multilayered sandwich
structure and an advanced RFID supported
dismantling and sorting process
will enable for cost-effective material
recovery and remanufacturing of automotive
polymer parts, integrating Reverse
and Forward Supply Chain Management
(SCM) into a Sustainable Supply Management
(SSM). (s. Page 12-13)
ARICON
Standardised Assessment of Readiness
and Interoperability for Cooperation
in New Product Development
in Virtual Organisations
ARICON has developed capability assessment
models for evaluating a company’s
individual performance to enter into a
virtual arrangement from Business, organisational,
legal, technical, ICT and human
point of view. Furthermore the project
has developed tools for interactively assessing
the company’s capability - so as
exposed practical problems and identify
potential improvements as wells as to assess
the degree of compatibility between
potentially collaborating partners. Another
objective was to demonstrate how the
ARICON tool and methodology can be
implemented in companies through
pilot projects. Lastly, it was proposed to
initiate the production of a European
Handbook for Virtual Enterprising and to
develop guidelines for the set up of virtual
cooperation.
AutoFakt
Automatic Invoice Processing
The main objective of this project is the
improvement of process reliability regarding
measuring and billing of work performed
in the logistics network of E.H.Harms
Automobile-Logistics. The project is in
particular focussed on the automation
of billing processes by using IT systems
based on innovative I&C technologies.
Auto-RTM
In cooperation with Delmia GmbH a manufacturing
concept of automated manufacturing
for CFRP structures using the
RTM (Resin-Transfer-Molding) process was
developed. The main task of BIBA was the
simulation of the manufacturing processes
and the configuration of material handling
solutions. For this reason a detailed material
flow was modelled and a suitable
Layout for production was elaborated.
BRAINBRIDGES
Collaborative Technologies and Environments
Enhancing the Seamless
Creativity Process, Leveraging the
Full European Potential
BrainBridges will result in a coordinated
strategic European research programme
in the area of Collaborative Working Environments
(CWE) and enabling technologies.
CWE unlocks the potential job creation,
productivity, creativity and innovation
potential of multi-cultural Europe, and will
be a major factor in strengthening and
maintaining the Union’s future competitiveness
in the global marketplace. It is
therefore imperative to fully leverage its
potential and establish an optimal European
research fabric to accelerate CWE
development. By uniting a critical mass of
key regional and national funding organisations,
research and industry players,
including a significant amount from New
Member States, BrainBridges assures its
ability to develop a truly pan-european
ERA pilot for CWE.
Deltamotor
Objective of this project is the development
of a high efficient gas engine.
