12th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition July 5 - 9, 2023 Wernigerode, Germany International variety meets a historical backdrop Since 1999 the International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition is a crowd puller for choirs and music ensembles from all over the world. The colorful city in the Harz mountain range attracts visitors with its unique charm of medieval architecture and moreover with its musical characteristics: Three renowned German choirs come from this small town. The historical town hall and the timber-framed city center give the festival its unique setting. At the same time dedicated inhabitants, who act as individual choir assistants, ensure a familiar atmosphere. This competition, named after Johannes Brahms, puts a musical focus on this German composer and the German romantics of the 19th century. Numerous advanced trainings offer interested choirs outstanding possibilities of mutual learning and professional training e.g. with evaluation performances and individual coaching. Due to its familiar character, the beautiful backdrop and the international variety this festival has established itself as one of INTERKULTUR’s most popular events.

liebe Musikfreunde, geschätzte Gäste,<br />
vier Jahre mussten wir warten, nun ist es<br />
endlich wieder soweit: Das 12. <strong>International</strong>e<br />
<strong>Johannes</strong>-<strong>Brahms</strong>-Chorfestival &<br />
Wettbewerb findet erneut in Wernigerode<br />
statt. Als Gastgeber des renommierten<br />
Festes heiße ich Sie herzlich zur zwölften<br />
Ausgabe der Veranstaltung in unserer<br />
„Bunten Stadt am Harz“ willkommen.<br />
Mit dem Einzug des <strong>Festival</strong>s wird Wernigerode<br />
zum Chorzentrum Norddeutschl<strong>and</strong>s.<br />
Zwischen dem 5. und 9. Juli 2023<br />
freuen wir uns auf 27 Chöre aus 14 Nationen,<br />
die für jede Menge Musik und<br />
Unterhaltung sorgen. Seien Sie gewiss,<br />
dass sich Wernigerode auf das facettenreiche<br />
Event freuen und alle bei den Wettbewerbsentscheidungen<br />
um die besten<br />
Talente mitfiebern werden.<br />
Dank der Organisation durch die Stadt<br />
Wernigerode und dem Förderverein<br />
INTERKULTUR e.V. verspricht das beliebte<br />
Chorfestival ein unvergleichliches<br />
Erlebnis zu werden. Gemeinsam wurde ein<br />
tolles <strong>Program</strong>m auf die Beine gestellt,<br />
welches mit der beliebten Chorparade<br />
und der Verkündung des Gewinners des<br />
<strong>Johannes</strong>- <strong>Brahms</strong>-Chorpreises auf dem<br />
Marktplatz viele Höhepunkte beinhaltet.<br />
Bei diesem <strong>Festival</strong> geht es nicht nur um<br />
den Wettbewerb, vielmehr ist es ein Fest<br />
der Begegnung und des freundschaftlichen,<br />
fachlichen Austausches. Musik<br />
verbindet. Sie fördert das Verständnis<br />
zwischen Menschen unterschiedlicher<br />
Kulturen. Es ist wichtig, die Sprache der<br />
Musik zu nutzen, um Verständigung und<br />
Austausch zu fördern.<br />
Mein besonderer Dank gilt den Unterstützern<br />
und Partnern des 12. <strong>International</strong>en<br />
<strong>Johannes</strong>-<strong>Brahms</strong>-Chorfestivals & Wettbewerbs,<br />
die mit ihrer Hilfe einen großen<br />
Anteil an der erfolgreichen Durchführung<br />
der Veranstaltung haben.<br />
Ich bin gespannt auf den musikalischen<br />
Wettstreit und wünsche allen Teilnehmerinnen<br />
und Teilnehmern einen erfolgreichen<br />
Wettbewerb und einen angenehmen<br />
Aufenthalt in unserer Stadt. Den<br />
