dunkle, gesellschaftskritische Poesie von Berthold Brecht in die
Gegenwart. Begleitet wird seine Darbietung der Gedichtsammlung
„Hauspostille“ von Klavier und Harmonium.

Germany‘s cultural all-purpose weapon Lars Eidinger is catapulting
Berthold Brecht‘s dark, socially critical poetry into the present
day. His performance of the collection of poems „Hauspostille“ is
accompanied by piano and harmonium.

Eisige Temperaturen, Sauerstoffmangel, 8.000 Metern über feindlichem
Gebiet: Die Serie „Masters of the Air“ von Tom Hanks und
Steven Spielberg ist die langersehnte Nachfolgeserie von „Band
of Brothers“ und „The Pacific“ und handelt vom Luftkrieg über
Europa und den Männern der „100th Bomb Group“, auch „blutige
Hundert“ genannt. Hauptdarsteller Austin Butler („Elvis“) spielt
einen von ihnen. Ein Must-see für Geschichtsinteressierte.
Freezing temperatures, lack of oxygen, 8,000 metres above enemy
territory: the series “Masters of the Air“ by Tom Hanks and Steven
Spielberg is the long-awaited follow-up series to “Band of Brothers“
and “The Pacific“ and is about the air war over Europe and
the men of the “100th Bomb Group“, also known as the “Bloody
Hundred“. Leading actor Austin Butler (“Elvis“) plays one of them.

Damien Hirst gilt als Enfant terrible der zeitgenössischen Kunstszene,
bei ihm verschwimmen die Grenzen zwischen Religion
und Wissenschaft, Schönheit und Grauen, Leben und Tod. Als er
seinen mit 8.601 Diamanten besetzten Platinabguss eines Schädels
2012 erstmalig präsentierte, war der Aufschrei groß. „For
the Love of God“, so der Titel des umstrittenen Werkes, und 40
weitere ikonische Arbeiten des Briten sind derzeit in der Sonderausstellung
„The Weight of Things“ zu sehen.

art scene, blurring the boundaries between religion and science,
beauty and horror, life and death. When he presented his platinum
cast of a skull set with 8,601 diamonds for the first time in 2012,
there was a huge outcry. “For the Love of God“, the title of the controversial
work, and 40 other iconic works by the British artist can
currently be seen in the special exhibition “The Weight of Things“.

Mit Slowdive aus England kehrt eine echte Genre-Größe nach
München zurück. Als Speerspitze der Shoegaze-Bewegung beweist
das Quintett um Neil Halstead und Rachel Goswell, dass
man bei ihrem neuen Album „Everything is Alive“ keineswegs
nur auf die eigenen Schuhe starren muss, sondern ruhig auch die
Hüfte kreisen lassen darf. Beispielsweise auf einem Konzert in
der Muffathalle.
With Slowdive from England, a true genre great is returning to
Munich. As the spearhead of the shoegaze movement, the quintet
led by Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell proves that you don‘t just
have to stare at your own shoes when listening to their new album
“Everything is Alive“, but can also let your hips gyrate. For example,
at a concert in the Muffathalle.

QUE VIVA ESPAÑA
Mit „Mythos Spanien“ widmet sich die Kunsthalle München,
dem Maler der spanischen Seele: Mit seinem unverkennbaren
Stil bannte Ignacio Zuloaga den Geist und das Wesen Spaniens
zwischen Landleben und Industrialisierung auf die Leinwand.
Wie kein anderer Künstler prägte er dabei das Bild seiner Heimat
im Ausland.
With “Mythos Spanien“, the Kunsthalle München is dedicating
itself to the painter of the Spanish soul: with his unmistakable style,
Ignacio Zuloaga captured the spirit and essence of Spain between
rural life and industrialisation on canvas. He shaped the image of
his homeland abroad like no other artist.

KAFKAESK
Die Ausstellung „Kafka 1924“ zeigt Positionen der Kunst des
20. und 21. Jahrhunderts, die sich explizit oder implizit auf
den Schriftsteller beziehen. Dabei soll seine bildungsbürgerliche
Rezeption aufgebrochen und auch Kafka-Neulinge
spielerisch an die Thematik herangeführt werden, etwa mit
Auszügen des Comic-Klassikers „Kafka for Beginners“.
The exhibition “Kafka 1924” shows positions in 20th and 21st
century art that explicitly or implicitly refer to the writer. The aim
is to break up his bourgeois reception and also introduce Kafka
newcomers to the subject in a playful way, for example with
excerpts from the comic classic “Kafka for Beginners”.

institutionelle Einzelausstellung von WangShui in Europa. In
Skulpturen, Malerei und einer eigens für die Ausstellung konzipierten
Live-Simulation verschmelzen Reality-TV und maschinelles
Lernen, chinesische Philosophie und Science-Fiction.
When the boundaries between man and technology become
blurred, it is both unsettling and fascinating. This is also demonstrated
by “Tolerance Window”, WangShui’s first institutional
solo exhibition in Europe. Sculptures, paintings and a live simulation
created especially for the exhibition merge reality TV and
machine learning, Chinese philosophy and science fiction.
