This course examines the development, regulation, and<br />

management of each of the financial institutions and<br />

markets. The activities of these institutions and<br />

government and individuals in the markets are then<br />

studied.<br />

Mergers and Acquisitions<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

This course focuses on how value is created (or destroyed)<br />

as a result of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint<br />

ventures, and spin-offs. Students will learn how to<br />

develop acquisition plans, value firms, build financial<br />

models, structure deals, and implement common<br />

takeover tactics and defenses.<br />

Prerequisite: FNCE 325.<br />

FNCE 442<br />

Multinationals and the Third World<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

This course examines business activity by multinational<br />

corporations in Third World countries. It focuses on<br />

conventional theory of multinational enterprises, financing<br />

decisions, technology transfer, institutional arrangements,<br />

entry strategy and options, host country bargaining power,<br />

settlement of investment disputes, workplace protection<br />

and safety ethics, and case studies of Third World<br />

countries.<br />

Prerequisites: FNCE 325 and INBA 340.<br />

International Investments<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

Theories of international trade will be introduced, as well<br />

as international business finance and its environment.<br />

Additional topics to be examined include: risk and the<br />

foreign investment decision and institutions and<br />

instruments of international finance.<br />

Prerequisite: FNCE 325.<br />

International Finance<br />

Theories of international trade will be introduced, as well<br />
