An introduction to the history, structure, and procedures<br />

of the broadcasting industry.<br />

Advanced TV Production<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

Practical experience in television production with<br />

individual responsibility for the creation and completion of<br />

a TV project and team experience in a variety of<br />

production functions on other student class projects.<br />

The student must provide a professional copy of all senior<br />

thesis-level projects to the School of Film and Television<br />

in partial fulfillment of degree requirements.<br />

Prerequisites: FILM 379; TVPD 341 or 344; project<br />

approval by the instructor prior to registration.<br />

Directed Study in TV Production<br />

TELEVISION PRODUCTION<br />

This class will fulfill your thesis requirement in lieu of<br />

TVPD 440, upon successful completion of the course.<br />

The course is an intensive investigation in one or more<br />

areas of production based upon a mentorship, interviews,<br />

practical experience, and a final research paper and<br />

presentation. It is an alternative form for the student to<br />

gain in-depth knowledge of the professional practices<br />

within the entertainment industry.<br />

The student must provide a professional copy of all senior<br />

thesis-level projects to the School of Film and Television<br />

in partial fulfillment of degree requirements.<br />

Prerequisites: FILM 379; TVPD 341 or 344; project<br />

approval by the instructor prior to registration.<br />

Internship I<br />

3 Semester Hours<br />

Internship with one of several Los Angeles media<br />

companies currently accepting LMU students. Practical<br />

experience working at a professional level for network,<br />

film studio, advertising agency, radio station, etc.<br />

Further directed experience with a professional company<br />
