On behalf of our Board of Directors, I would like to wish all our Members, Management, Staff and their families a Happy New
Year.
As winter has settled in around us, we find ourselves past the half-way point of our Phase I Expansion Project. After listening
to some of our member’s concerns, over the past few months, I have spent a considerable amount of time at the Club doing
weekly walk-throughs and attending meetings with Club Management, our construction consultants, and our contractor. With
considerable diligence and attention from all parties, and following some challenges in the summer and fall, I am pleased to
report that the project is now progressing as we would expect. I am confident that you will find the end result to be well worth
the wait and any inconveniences that have been endured along the way. While certain components of the Expansion will be
returned to our members as they are completed, the entire project will be finished and open this fall. Upon completion, our
facility will be truly exceptional and will provide us all with membership at one of the top Private Clubs in Canada. This Club
News issue includes a detailed Expansion Update provided by Garry Lamb, Chair of our Construction Committee.
It is Management’s role to operate the Club on a day to day basis and the Board is very pleased with the performance of our
current team. The role of the Board and the Committees is to set strategic directions, establish priorities, and to represent our
Membership to our Management Team. The CWC is a “Member’s” Club and we all have the opportunity to be a part of the
decisions that will shape our future. As always, member feedback is important to us and encouraged. Thank you to our ad hoc
committee members and our directors for giving back to our Club.
