Summary: Approximately 38 lecturing/research<br />

awards for 2-10 months (plus up to five travelonly<br />

awards). Award categories are senior fullmaintenance,<br />

travel only, junior lecturing and<br />

junior research. Preference will be given to grant<br />

durations of approximately one semester (2-5<br />

months) with the exception of academic-year grants<br />

for junior lecturers. Up to 50 awards for special<br />

2-week seminar programs. See also the Fulbright<br />

Distinguished Chairs Program and regional and<br />

special programs in Europe.<br />

Program Overview: Most awards are open to all<br />

disciplines for scholars and professionals from all<br />

academic fields. The maintenance grant category for<br />

senior scholars offers flexibility with grant durations<br />

and starting dates during the program year. In general,<br />

applicants are expected to have several years of<br />

experience beyond the doctorate and are advised to<br />

arrange affiliation and solicit an invitation from a<br />

prospective host institution in Germany. Preference<br />

for scholars who have not received Fulbright<br />

Scholar grants to Germany within the last 10 years.<br />

economics, environmental sciences, law,<br />

communications, and media science.<br />

institution, equals approximately 6 hours per<br />

week (each teaching hour lasts 45 minutes, and a<br />

course usually consists of 2 such hours per week).<br />

Specialization(s): Literature, language, culture,<br />

history, art history, film, and related<br />

Language: Lecturing is in English, but some<br />

German is helpful.<br />

Location(s): Affiliation to be determined, but<br />

applicant may indicate preference.<br />

Comments: Intended for scholars at the assistant<br />
