with about 25 participants in each). Present a<br />
seminar on grantee’s research area to the wider<br />

ie. CASTeL-the Centre for the Advancement<br />

scientists, mathematicians and educationalists<br />

College, Drumcondra. The expertise of the<br />
members encompasses the science disciplines<br />
and mathematics, in addition to education.<br />
CASTeL’s research aims to improve the<br />
learning of science and mathematics at all<br />
levels of the educational system. CASTeL<br />
supports science and mathematics promotion<br />
activities in partnership with many local and<br />
national organizations, and specialized training<br />
and consultancy services for science and<br />
mathematics education are also available.<br />

Program Overview: The program in Italy is<br />
open to scholars and professionals from all<br />
disciplines; preferences are indicated under<br />
individual award descriptions and on the U.S.-<br />

fulbright.it. Except for the junior scholar<br />
awards, applicants are expected in general to<br />
have a minimum of seven years experience<br />
beyond the Ph.D. Scholars may be invited to<br />
give occasional lectures or seminars at various<br />
Italian universities. Some of the awards offer<br />
accommodation or a financial contribution to<br />
offset housing costs. The academic calendar<br />
