5 days from £199 per person Bideford & Clovelly Bideford’s historic quayside was once amongst the busiest in England. Today it is a relaxing town, with many reminders of its maritime heritage. Clovelly and Tintagel are two of the most intriguing villages in the south west. Excursions Included Full Day to Clovelly and Great Torrington. Today we visit Great Torrington, home of the famous glass works (factory visit included in the tour cost) before continuing to the spectacular village of Clovelly which tumbles down to the sea (entrance included in the tour cost). Full Day to Bude and Tintagel. We journey south along the beautiful north Cornwall coast, first to the small resort of Bude with its remarkable canal and spectacular beach, then to the legendary village of Tintagel, allegedly the birthplace of King Arthur. Durrant House Hotel Bideford Situated on the outskirts of the historic port of Bideford with spectacular views over the Torridge estuary to the sandy beaches of Instow. This large hotel is the former home of Sir Richard Goodwin Keats, famous seaman and former confidant to King William IV. It has been greatly extended and developed and now provides 125 bedrooms, all of which have private bath or shower and WC, TV, radio, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. The Lost Gardens of Heligan is perhaps the most famous garden restoration in Europe and the Eden Project is simply one of the wonders of the world! Excursions Included Full Day to Mevagissey and Heligan. Mevagissey is still a working fishing port with a lively harbour and many interesting pubs. A short journey takes us on to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. This is the site of the largest garden restoration in Europe (entrance included in the tour cost). Full Day to the Eden Project. The Eden Project is worth visiting for its architecture alone. But of course the plants are the real stars and its collection of tropical and warm temperate plants will fascinate even the nongardener - and delight and amaze those with a passion for gardening. Eliot Hotel Newquay Very well situated close to Great Western and Tolcarne beaches, only a few yards from the sea front and within easy walking distance of the shops and harbour. 76 bedrooms with central heating and bath or shower and WC. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, and TV with radio channels. There are three lovely airy lounges in which to relax, plus a cocktail bar and dance floor where entertainment is provided most evenings.
