Review and Evaluation Task Groups<br />
Task groups were struck to review research papers and<br />
subsequent revisions, develop summaries <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> research<br />
findings and recommend evaluations <strong>of</strong> Canada’s<br />
implementation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Convention to <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong><br />
Directors <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> <strong>Coalition</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Rights</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Children</strong>. The Board <strong>of</strong> Directors, however, assumes final<br />
responsibility <strong>for</strong> this report.<br />
Convention Article 4: International Cooperation to<br />
Promote and Enhance <strong>Children</strong>’s <strong>Rights</strong><br />
Task Leader: Cathie Guthrie is <strong>the</strong> director <strong>of</strong> international<br />
programs <strong>for</strong> UNICEF Canada. She has been involved in<br />
international development with UNICEF Canada <strong>for</strong> 17<br />
years and travels throughout Africa and Asia, monitoring<br />
development programs <strong>for</strong> children.<br />
Adrienne Clements is <strong>the</strong> director <strong>of</strong> programs <strong>for</strong> Save <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>Children</strong>--Canada, a child-focused international<br />
development organization aimed at improving <strong>the</strong> lives <strong>of</strong><br />
children. She has worked in <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong> children’s rights<br />
<strong>for</strong> 10 years, designing programs, developing<br />
methodologies and promoting <strong>the</strong> participation <strong>of</strong> children<br />
in <strong>the</strong> development process.<br />
Moira Hutchinson is a research consultant with unions and<br />
churches on human rights issues. She is currently assisting<br />
<strong>the</strong> Labour International Development Committee in its<br />
work with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> International Development<br />
Agency on labour rights and labour sector development.<br />
Henry Veltmeyer is pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> international development<br />
studies at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax and visiting<br />
