1.5 Organization <strong>of</strong> Report<br />

This report is divided in<strong>to</strong> five chapters. Chapter 1 presents the background, problem<br />

statement, research objective, <strong>and</strong> research methodology. Chapter 2 describes the present state <strong>of</strong><br />

knowledge <strong>of</strong> geocell <strong>and</strong> RAP <strong>and</strong> a review <strong>of</strong> labora<strong>to</strong>ry <strong>and</strong> field studies <strong>of</strong> geosynthetic-<br />

reinforced unpaved roads. The properties <strong>of</strong> the materials, equipment, <strong>and</strong> test procedures used in<br />

the large-scale cyclic plate load tests are presented in Chapter 3. Chapter 4 presents test results<br />

<strong>and</strong> data analysis. Conclusions <strong>and</strong> recommendations for future work are provided in Chapter 5.<br />
