5.3 E-Mail Communication 5.3.1 Purpose This procedure discusses the e-mail communications systems for SPTR. 5.3.2 Participants a. NCC. b. SPTR. c. WSC. d. Malabar Ground Station. 5.3.3 Procedure 5.3.3.1 Operations The primary means for SPTR operational communications will be via e-mail. E-mail destined for the South Pole is sent via the Malabar Ground Station. There the e-mail is stored on a VAX server and waits until the GOES-3/LES-9 satellite is in view of the station. The e-mail is then transmitted to the South Pole. Please note, due to this configuration, there may be some lag time between sent and received e-mail. The following is a list of e-mail addresses for SPTR entities: a. NCC NOTE All operational e-mail not sent directly to the TM should include the TM on the cc line. 1.
