7.6 Maintenance and Operations Coordination
7.6.1 Purpose
This procedure describes how WSC and SP maintenance and operations needs are coordinated.
7.6.2 Participants
a. NCC.
b. FDF.
c. Code 450.
d. WSC.
e. Malabar Ground Station.
f. South Pole Maintenance and Engineering.
7.6.3 Procedure
7.6.3.1 General
Maintenance and operations coordination for SPTR problems, software upgrades, SPTR, changes
or enhancements are handled through the M&O e-mail collective. The address is TBD. The
collective is managed by GSFC Code 450. In addition to M&O coordination, operations
procedures updates, DCNs etc. will be available on the collective to support documentation
updates.
7.6.3.2 South Pole M&O
South Pole maintenance activities include fault isolation of the SPTR at the South Pole and
possibly operations of the SPTR software and hardware to perform restoration of all equipment at
the South Pole.
7.6.3.3 WSC M&O
Maintenance and operations activities at the WSC would include the following equipment:
a. SPTR file server
b. TDIs
c. PTPs
d. FOTs and associated cabling
7.6.3.4 WSC Router M&O
M&O activities will be performed as required under direction of NISN at GSFC and MSFC.
