A.6.2.3 Faults Area
This area is divided into three sections, Monitor and Control (M&C), Modulator, and
Demodulator/Decoder for fault indicators. Light indicators are either red or green. Green
indicates systems are working well, red denotes an anomaly/fault. For the Loss of Clock
indicator for the Modulator, Loss of Data and Decoder Lock for the Demod/Decoder,
explanations are given for these three items.
A.6.2.3.1 M&C
a. Reset: Power up or reset has occurred
b. General Message: Indicates fault in control message to modem
c. Msg Checksum: Host message checksum error
d. Msg Byte Count: Host message byte count error
e. Clock Activity: Clock activity fault
f. Receive Buffer: Receive buffer overflow
g. TX clock option PLL: Transmit clock option phase lock loop fault
h. TT Fault: Transmit timing fault
i. RX clock Option PLL: Receiver clock option phase lock loop fault
A.6.2.3.2 Modulator
a. Mod loss of data: Loss of data
b. Loss of clock: Indicator turns red when CW in turned on.
c. No symbol clock: no symbol clock is present
d. Synthesizer 1 lock: Out of lock
e. Synthesizer 2 lock: Out of lock
A.6.2.3.3 Demodulator/Decoder
a. Demod lock: Demod not locked
b. Loss of data: When the satellite modem is not locked there is loss of data.
c. Decoder lock: When the satellite modem is not locked the decoder is not locked.
d. TX configuration: Transmit configuration anomaly.
e. RX configuration: Receiver configuration anomaly.
