fences fixed approximately 3200 tonnes of CO2. Other intangible benefits included the
organisation of farmers for fire prevention; the organisation and training of brigades for
carrying out forest inventories; and the improvement of productive systems. Above all, the
recognition that forests may contribute to environmental and socioeconomic direct benefits
was one of the main gains resulting from the project.
