The Regional Laboratory of Civil Engineering has an automatic meteorological<br />

station (AMS) located in the Forest park of Pico <strong>da</strong>s Pedras and fully functioning since<br />

April 2010. The National Institute of Meteorology has a automatic meteorologic station<br />

located on São Jorge Lighthouse and running since 1992.<br />
