<strong>el</strong>-Hosdn and "No. 14," but very much smaller<br />

than these, situ<strong>at</strong>ed <strong>at</strong> tlie S.W. an^le of the<br />

Western Court. This was apparently found by<br />

Lord Duft'erin in 1859, and its entrance was<br />

visible before the beginning of the present ex-<br />

cav<strong>at</strong>ions (see p. 12*. <strong>The</strong> dromos and tlie<br />

tomb its<strong>el</strong>f were, however, entir<strong>el</strong>y filled with<br />

rubbish, which we cleared out, in order to inves-<br />

tig<strong>at</strong>e it. In the chamber the rubbish had<br />

become hardened by w<strong>at</strong>er which had got in<br />

while the tomb lay open. Full details and<br />

measurements of this tomb will be given in Part<br />

II, <strong>The</strong> burial had been viol<strong>at</strong>ed, nothing beinjj<br />

found but a gre<strong>at</strong> alabaster sarcophagus, three<br />

times the usual size, Avithout incised inscriptions.<br />

No Ifi. A small chamber-tomb, with a pit,<br />

of the usual type, <strong>at</strong> the N.W. angle of the<br />

Western Court. <strong>The</strong> pit is 7 ft. long, 3 ft.<br />

wide, and 6 ft. (i in. deep. <strong>The</strong> chamber is G ft.<br />

long, 4 ft. 6 in. wide, and only 3 ft. high.<br />

Viol<strong>at</strong>ed, and entir<strong>el</strong>y empty.<br />
