in pursuing its objective.
• Best Set Design Award was given to Harris
Kafkarides for his work on Michalis Pieri’s "The
House" - a 2003-4 THOC production, directed
by Evis Gavrielides, for conveying to the
house space a spiritual entity.
• Best Costume Design Award was won by
Stavros Antonopoulos for his costumes in Nicolai
Gogal’s "The Inspector General" - a
2004-5 THOC production directed by Yiannis
Jordanides. His costumes acquired a morphoplastic
quality reflecting the writer’s excessively
sharp satire.
• Best Music Award went to George Rodosthenous
in recognition of his compositions for
Rona Munro’s "Iron" - a 2004-5 Ethal production
directed by Varnavas Kyriazi. The dominating
theme of unbounded cruelty is aptly
blended with motifs of human suffering or love.
• Best Choreography/Movement Award was given
to Arianna Economou for her work in
Peter Schaffer’s "Equus" - a 2004-5 Theatre Ena
production. Her choreography succeeded in
rendering the double-faced nature of dream and
nightmare.
• Best Lighting Design Award was won by Andreas
Christodoulides for the impressive atmosphere
of mystery and tenor he achieved through
his lighting effé in Stephen Mallatratt’s adaptation
of Susan Hill’s novel "The Woman in
Black" - a 2003-4 Theatre Ena production directed
by Andreas Christodoulides.
There was no prize for Best Theatre Writing/Adaptation.
The Award’s Judging, Committee
was chaired by lawyer Yioula Ioannou
and made up of literary and language expert
George Georgiou, teachers and literature experts
Nona Moleski and Kika Olympiou and teacher
Costas Georgiou.
The text of the ceremony was written by Andreas
Paraschos and presenters were Marina Maleni
and Andreas Tsouris.
