ASSEMBLE<br />

Purpose:<br />

The ASSEMBLE command creates relocatable object programs<br />

from programs written in System/360 Assembler Language.<br />

suppresses the cross-reference symbol table<br />

types source statements containing errors at the<br />

terminal, along with diagnostic and error<br />

messages<br />

suppresses typing of errors.<br />

writes the LISTING file on the tape whose<br />

symbolic address is TAPn<br />

writes the LISTING file on the permanent disk<br />

writes the LISTING file on the offline printer<br />

checks the program for reentrance<br />

suppresses the reentrance check<br />

The filetype SYSIN is assumed for all input files to the<br />

ASSEMBLE command. The file must have fixed-length,<br />

SO-character records. More than one assembly may be<br />

performed by specifying additional filenames, separated by<br />

blanks. Any number of files may be specified, but the<br />

command must not exceed a single input line. Each file<br />
