TAPE PROCEDURES<br />

A facility is available for attaching magnetic tapes to a<br />

virtual machine. The selection of a physical tape drive is<br />

made by the CP operator, and the virtual device address is<br />

chosen by the terminal user. The eMS TAPE command requires<br />

that the tape have a,ddress 181. The TAPEIO function and the<br />

TPCOPY command associate the device names TAPl and TAP2 with<br />

the device addresses 180 and 181, respectively.<br />
