c. TAPE LOAD<br />

Again using the same tape, this command erases FILEA from<br />

the disk, and rep1ace it with the tape copy. When the<br />

directory record is processed. the following response is<br />

typed:<br />

FILEA TEXT P1 LOADED.<br />

Note that the mode is now P1. Because there is no tapemark<br />

following FILEA" FILEB is read and replaces the disk copy of<br />

FILEB. The response<br />

FILEB TEXT P1 LOADED.<br />

is followed by the Ready message when the tap ema rk is<br />

encountered.<br />

Another TAPE LOAD command would now copy SYSLIB MACLIB onto<br />

the permanent disk as SYSLIB MACLIB P1. SYSLIB MACLIB SY on<br />

the system disk would not be erased.<br />

Error Messages:<br />

E(00001) INVALID TAPE COMMAND FUNCTION OR PARAMETER LIST.<br />

The format of the command was incorrect, or the operation<br />

specified was unknown. Retry the command. No operation was<br />

performed.<br />

E(00001) FILE NOT FOUND.<br />

The file specified with TAPE DUMP<br />

operation was performed. Check the<br />

retry the command.<br />

E(00002) FATAL TAPE ERROR WHILE WRITING.<br />

An I/O error occurred which could not be corrected by ten<br />

retries. Notify the operator to replace the tape. This<br />

message is also issued for errors during tape control<br />

operations (REWIND, WRITEOF, SRIP). If TAPE SKIP was issued<br />

at a point beyond which no tapemarks existed, the tape went<br />

to end of reel. A subsequent DUMP, SKIP, or WRITEOF results<br />

in this message.<br />

E(00002) TAPn IS FILE PROTECTED<br />

FATAL TAPE ERROR WHILE WRITING.<br />

The ring is not in the tape, therefore writing cannot occur.<br />

E(00002) TAPn NOT ATTACHED<br />

FATAL TAPE ERROR WHILE WRITING.<br />

The tape is not attached, therefore it cannot be used.<br />

An I/O error occurred while the file was being transferred<br />

to or from the disk utility file. Retry the command. If<br />

the error recurs. notify the operator. If the file was<br />

delete-after-reading;. see note 2 under COMBINE.<br />

E(00003) FATAL DISK ERROR.<br />

An I/O error occurred, or, for a DISK LOAD, the disk may be<br />
