DISCIPLINE.<br />

Art. 101.— 1. The several Bodies of the Rite have jurisdiction<br />

in cases of discipline over their own members, unaffiliated Masons<br />

f the Rite within their territorial jurisdiction, and sojourners<br />

for offences committed within the territorial jurisdiction of such<br />

Bodies.<br />

2. The trial shall be conducted according to the usual rules in<br />

Masonic trials ; but the Council of Deliberation may adopt a<br />

Code of Procedure, except so far as one may be prescribed by the<br />

Supreme Council.<br />

3. Charges and specifications may be amended at any stage of<br />

the proceedings.<br />

4. If the sentence be suspension or expulsion from all Masonic<br />

rights, it shall not take full effect until confirmed by the Council<br />

of Deliberation or the Supreme Council, but shall operate as a<br />

temporary suspension until thus confirmed or reversed.<br />

5. In all such cases when there is no appeal, a full transcript<br />

of the record and the evidence shall be laid before the Council of<br />

Deliberation at its next session, or if the time before such next<br />

& ssion shall, in the judgment of the Illustrious Deputy, be too<br />

short, it may be presented at the next succeeding session.<br />

6. In all cases an appeal lies by any Mason of the Rite aggrieved,<br />

to the stated session of the Council of Deliberation to be<br />

held next after thirty days from the close of the trial, or if an<br />

annual session of the Supreme Council intervenes, to the<br />

Supreme Council, if the appellant so elects: during the pendency<br />

of the appeal a judgment of suspension or expulsion is not<br />

vacated, but operates as a temporary suspension.
