This course is designed for initial/first time<br />
training of health care professionals<br />
and other personnel who need to know<br />
how to perform CPR and other basic<br />
cardiovascular life-support skills in a wide<br />
variety of in- and out- of hospital settings.<br />
This audience includes nurses, physicians,<br />
EMS professionals and students in a health<br />
care program at a university/college, allied<br />
health professionals (physical therapists,<br />
occupational therapist, athletic trainers,<br />
etc.) and others who may need training<br />
in basic life support skills. BLS for Health<br />
Care Providers Course reflects the 2010<br />
AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC,<br />
published in October 2010. This course<br />
trains participants to promptly recognize<br />
several life-threatening emergencies in<br />
adult, child and infant patients, give<br />
high-quality chest compressions, deliver<br />
appropriate ventilations and provide early<br />
use of an AED. Also included is relief of<br />
foreign body airway obstruction for the<br />
responsive and unresponsive victim. The<br />

Community<br />
Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI)<br />
This course includes community level<br />
A/C/I CPR/AED which includes Single<br />
Rescuer Adult CPR and Automated<br />
External Defibrillator (AED), use of<br />
protective barrier devices and treatment<br />
of obstructed airway (Heimlich Maneuver),<br />
Community Basic First Aid consisting of<br />
the recognition and emergency care for<br />
sudden illness and injury (ex: heart attack,<br />
seizure, allergic reaction, stroke, burns,<br />
fractures, environmental, bandaging skills).<br />
Each attending student is offered a<br />
“Combo” Community Level A/C/I CPR/<br />
AED and Basic First Aid text. Students<br />
successfully completing the course receive<br />
Community-Level Adult CPR/AED and<br />
Basic First Aid two-year credential (card)<br />
and class attendance certificate. Price<br />
