ReseaRch summaRy<br />
Ocular Inflammatory Diseases<br />
Dr. Levinson’s research interest is ocular inflammatory<br />
diseases. He is the primary investigator on international<br />
research projects in both the clinical aspects of uveitis<br />
and the basic mechanisms and immunogenetics of<br />
ocular inflammation. Current projects include a collaborative<br />
longitudinal study of a chronic inflammatory<br />
disease, birdshot chorioretinopathy, with investigators in<br />
France. The study focuses on the interrelationship of<br />
disease factors, as well as the course of disease and<br />
response to treatment.<br />
Dr. Levinson is also studying the genetic components of<br />
the several forms of ocular inflammation in collaboration<br />
with investigators in the United States, France, Mexico,<br />
and Japan.<br />
