Menu Properties The following figure illustrates the Menu Properties window. The Menu Properties window displays: • The title of the menu item. • The current working domain and domain currency. If the specific program updates data that applies to all domains, All Domains displays next to the working domain currency. This is determined by settings in Program Information Maintenance (36.3.21.1). • Details about the program currently executing, including the program name and menu number. • If the user executing the program has been assigned a simplified version of the program, the name of the assigned UI template displays. • If a value has been specified for this user in the Name field in Menu System Maintenance (36.4.4), it displays as the Alias. The alias typically represents a shortened form of the longer menu name. • Version details for Desktop and MFG/PRO. Use the Open With drop-down to determine whether a program displays as an HTML screen (Desktop) or as a character-based terminal (Terminal) screen. Some programs include a .NET User Interface option for the
QAD .NET User Interface Overview 23 inclusion of additional features with the QAD .NET UI. For example, when you open Product Structure Maintenance with the .NET User Interface option, you have access to interactive drag-and-drop features. Initially, each program’s display mode is determined by settings in Program Information Maintenance (36.3.21.1). Each user can change this setting on a program-by-program basis using the Properties option. These choices are retained from session to session. Note Custom browses saved in the Favorites area only display in Browser Viewer mode. Menu Item Icons The icons listed here display next to menu items and indicate the type of associated program. Icon Description Favorites Report program Maintenance or control program; also displays next to URLs linked to browse cells Miscellaneous programs that do not fit another category, as well as any custom programs you add to the menus Browse Process map created with the Process Editor in Desktop Each user can easily create a personalized menu system in the Favorites area using options or drag-and-drop techniques. Adding Menus to Favorites Right-click a menu folder or menu item in the Applications area and choose the Add to Favorites option, shown in “Using Menu Options” on page 20.
