<strong>CCNP</strong>v6 <strong>TSHOOT</strong><br />

<strong>The</strong> above output displays an address conflict resulting from the attempted assignment of the 10.1.80.1 address.<br />

<strong>The</strong> server sends a ping for an address before it attempts to assign that address from the pool. Also, after the<br />

client is assigned an IP address by the DHCP server, it sends a Gratuitous ARP or test ARP for that address. If<br />

the address is already assigned to a device interface, the device to which it is assigned responds, and the DHCP<br />

server marks it as a conflicted address. Conflicted addresses can be cleared with the clear ip dhcp<br />

conflict * command.<br />
